Garin Ohannessian is a Public Health Nursing Supervisor in the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health for the Community and Field Services Division Service Planning Area 2 in the West Valley Health District. She received her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Phoenix with a specialization in Education and Nursing Informatics. She has also received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Southern California. She has worked for the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health for over 23 years. She oversees communicable diseases to prevent outbreaks of diseases. Garin is also a member of the Speaker’s Bureau. In this duty, she speaks to the community and local agencies on any Public Health Emergency and various topics to educate the public. Garin believes in the LA County Department of Public Health\’s mission to protect health, prevent disease, and promote health and well-being. She has also been a committee member of the Glendale Health Festival for twelve years. Garin is also a member of the Armenian American Medical Society and the Armenian American Nurses Association.
