The AAMS held its annual Christmas celebration at the Athena Restaurant in Glendale. Following dinner, Leo Polosajian, MD, FACC, MS, a board-certified electrophysiologist, spoke about atrial fibrillation treatment and options.
Sound of Children Cultural Center, a non-profit that serves children in our Diaspora through cultural and musical education, provided the evening's festive musical entertainment.
The program ended with scholarship presentations. The AAMS' annual scholarship program awards qualified Armenian students enrolled in various healthcare education programs in medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, nursing, and allied health. This year, eight students were recipients of the scholarships.
Vahik Petrossian, chair of the Armenian Educational Foundation’s Armenia Scholarship Program, presented scholarships to 14 Armenian-based students pursuing healthcare-related careers. These scholarships were sponsored by the AAMS and its members’ individual contributions.
Guests capped off the evening with coffee and dessert, and then it was party time!
