Vicken Sepilian, MD, FACOG, was honored as the Armenian Bone Marrow Donor Registry (ABMDR) Man of the Year at their 2021 Gala in Glendale, California. Dr. Sepilian was recognized at the event, held on August 22, 2021, for his work as a civic leader, educator, and philanthropist; and his unwavering support of the work of the ABMDR.
Dr. Sepilian is a member of the Armenian American Medical Society (AAMS), serving as president for two terms and continuing his involvement in the organization. He is committed to building a healthy community, serving as host of the AAMS health education television program, Your Health, since its inception in 2008. In 2010, Dr. Sepilian worked alongside local civic leaders and the City of Glendale to found The Glendale Health Festival.
As president of the Armenian Medical International Committee (AMIC), Dr. Sepilian recently presided over the Armenian Medical World Congress. Under Dr. Sepilian’s leadership, AMIC played a critical role this past year in coordinating diasporan efforts and helping Armenia and Artsakh battle the global COVID-19 pandemic, as well as healthcare relief efforts during and in the aftermath of the 2020 Artsakh war.
A proud supporter of the ABMDR, Dr. Sepilian has the organization in many medical and scientific forums. Having visited ABMDR’s Center in Yerevan, he is familiar with their laboratory and operations and has helped the organization’s outreach through TV programs and lectures. He is also the longtime MC of their annual fundraising event and promoted their “Angels” program.
