Dr. Samvel Hmayakyan received his medical degree from Yerevan State Medical University with honors. After graduation he completed his training in OB/GYN in Kharkov, Ukraine, and then worked as Chair of OB/GYN Department in Yeghegnadzor, Armenia. After relocation to United States he completed his residency in Family Medicine at Texas Tech University Health Science Center at Odessa, Texas. During last year of his training he served as a Chief Resident.
Dr. Hmayakyan is currently in private practice in Glendale, California. He is Board Certified in Family Medicine and in Hospice and Palliative Medicine. Dr. Hmayakyan is also Clinical Associate Professor of Physician Assistant Education at Western University of Health Sciences and Volunteer Clinical Instructor of Department of Family Medicine at University of Southern California. Dr. Hmayakyan invented disposable stethoscope cover and holds 4 US patents.
