Here is the Alzheimer’s Care Armenia

In 2024, Alzheimer’s Care Armenia (ACA) became part of the Armenian American Medical Society, marking a significant milestone that supports its mission to improve the lives of those affected by dementia in Armenia. Led by Dr. Jane, ACA is dedicated to advancing dementia care through research, innovative solutions, and advocacy.

ACA’s groundbreaking study using “Robin the Robot” provided emotional support to older adults during the Covid-19 pandemic and paved the way for future innovations in dementia care. In 2022, ACA launched the Brain Health Armenia Project, which has screened over 4,000 people for early memory issues and provided Alzheimer’s training to primary care physicians, thanks to funding from the Davos Alzheimer’s Collaborative.

Dr. Jane also developed geriatric assessment protocols with the Ministry of Health and spearheaded Armenia’s National Dementia Plan, formalized in 2023. Additionally, ACA launched a nationwide cognitive and palliative care program supported by the Hovnanian Family Foundation, serving over 500 patients, with many participating in Memory Café programs in Gyumri and Yerevan.
