Dr. Artin Sagherian was a distinguished physician, humanitarian, and scholar whose contributions spanned medicine, education, and Armenian advocacy. A graduate of the American University of Beirut, he later earned degrees in philosophy, healthcare management, and hypnotherapy. He served as Medical Director of the Sanatorium in Azounieh and established a free clinic in Anjar before working as a medic for the UN during the Lebanese Civil War. After relocating to the U.S. in 1980, he led Community Health Projects in Glendora and volunteered extensively at nonprofit clinics. A founding member of the Armenian American Medical Society of California, he championed the education of Armenian medical students. Beyond medicine, he was an author, educator, political activist, and actor. Honored with numerous awards, Dr. Sagherian’s legacy endures through his profound impact on healthcare and the Armenian community.
